The Clash, GMA Network’s upcoming singing competition, took the country by storm as it culminated its nationwide auditions in Cebu, Baguio, Davao and Metro Manila.

Hundreds of Filipino hopefuls lined up and patiently waited at the event venues hoping to make the cut and become the country’s next singing sensation.

Aspiring singers from the Visayas region flocked to Gaisano Island Mall Mactan in Cebu City last Feb. 17 for the first leg of the auditions while those from Northern Luzon trooped to Sunshine Park in Baguio City last Feb. 24. Hopefuls from Mindanao tried their luck at The Annex Event Center of SM City Davao last March 10. On the other hand, aspirants from Metro Manila conquered the Skydome at SM North EDSA last March 17.During these events, The Clash host Regine Velasquez cheered the aspirants and rendered song numbers that definitely lifted their spirits.

“I am amazed with the number of people who auditioned kasi marami pa rin talaga yung gustong ipakita kung anong talento meron sila, especially when it comes to music and singing. In The Clash, sigurado ako na mapapakita nila ‘yon kasi iba itong singing competition na ito. It is open to all and it gives everyone a chance,” she said.

Serving as audition masters were musician and TV director Bert de Leon for Cebu; South Border lead singer Jay Durias for Baguio; and songwriter Vehnee Saturno for Davao. Meanwhile, the three accompanied Regine in the Manila-leg audition.

The Clash’s regional audition is put together by GMA Entertainment Content Group and GMA Regional TV.
