No break in drug war: 18 nabbed in QC

Despite the observance of Lent, police launched anti-illegal drug operations in Quezon City that resulted in the arrest of 18 suspects over the weekend.

Chief Superinten­dent Guillermo Eleazar, director of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), said they confiscate­d P160,000 worth of shabu during a sting in Barangay Gulod.

Police apprehende­d Hubert Stoney, 40, who was included in the QCPD’s drug watchlist, after he allegedly sold shabu to a policeman who posed as a buyer.

Five other drug suspects were nabbed at Stoney’s house while allegedly engaged in a pot session. They were Imee Bolo, 37; Ricardo Reyes, 43; Rio Baluyot, 30; Elgin Cruz, 25, and Nerissa Padiernos, 22.

Probers said they recovered at least 27 grams of shabu and drug parapherna­lia in the operation.

In Barangay Tatalon, police officers on routine patrol collared Kenneth Salvador, 30, after he allegedly sold shabu to two un- identified men, who escaped from the scene.

In Barangay Payatas, seven persons were arrested in another drug bust.

They were Irene Corado, 30; Rudy Flagne, 36; Ruel Abod, 27; Joana Marie Abilgos, 28; Walter Acut, 30; Rexie Lapad, 34, and Mauelto Valdevilla Jr., 40.

The suspects allegedly yielded 18 sachets of shabu and drug parapherna­lia.

Romel Dizon, 25, and Bienvenido Emaas, 32, were nabbed while allegedly engaged in a drug deal in Barangay Pasong Tamo.

Police said they confiscate­d three packs of shabu from Dizon and Emaas.

Charles Lester Co, 32, was held for alleged possession of four sachets of shabu in Barangay Tatalon.

Anti-narcotics agents arrested William Razon, 37, after he allegedly sold shabu to a police officer who posed as a buyer in Barangay Immaculate Concepcion.

The suspects are being held by police on charges of violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehens­ive Dangerous Drugs Act.
