Porsche takes all-new Cayenne on track and off road in Sepang
All of the core components of the Cayenne are new developments. Therefore, the launch concept of Sportscar Together was brought to life by showcasing how unique innovative technologies in the new Cayenne have completely redefined the SUV segment. Five innovative features were the focus of specially curated activities such as handling exercises, slalom stations and braking challenges that were set up at Sepang International Circuit as well as on an off-road circuit.
Arthur Willmann, Managing Director of Porsche Asia Pacific, said, “Porsche made history by building the world’s first sports car in the SUV segment back in 2002; some considered this to even be a controversial move. The development goal was as simple as it was ambitious. The Cayenne was to become a genuine Porsche, offering combination of performance and functionality, both on-road and off-road. Today, continue the success story begun by its predecessors. So, through this media event, our aim is to showcase how the third generation of our successful SUV model line measures up as the sportiest in its class. “
At the event, attendees were treated to the Cayenne S with 440hp and the Cayenne Turbo with 550hp. Additionally, the event provided the platform to learn through theory sessions and more importantly the opportunity to experience the new features, many of which are worldfirsts in the SUV segment, under the guidance of Porsche certified instructors.
