US bares roster for World Cup

The United States, amid its qualifying campaign to the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019, bared its 35-player roster yesterday with the best and the brightest in the NBA expected to attend the July 25-27 US national team mini camp in Las Vegas.

LeBron James of Cleveland and Golden State’s Stephen Curry banner the cast of aspirants that include Klay Thompson, Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Anthony Davis, Paul George, James Harden, Kyle Lowry, Chris Paul, DeMar De Rozan, John Wall, Draymond Green, Gordon Hayward, Harrison Barnes, Mike Conley Jr., Eric Gordon;

Tobias Harris, Kawhi Leonard, CJ McCollum, Isaiah Thomas, Bradley Beal, DeMarcus Cousins, Andre Drummond, Damian Lillard, Khris Middleton, Devin Booker, Blake Griffin, Kevin Love, Victor Oladipo, Mylers Turner, Jimmy Butler and Kemba Walker.

Curry, Durant, Gordon, Love and Westbrook were members of the FIBA World Cup 2010 champion team while Curry, Davis, DeRozan, Drummond, Harden, Irving and Thompson led USA to the World Cup title in 2014 in Spain.

Durant and Irving also took the MVP crowns in 2010 and 2014, respective­ly.

Booker, McCollum, Middleton, Thomas and Turner make their first appearance on the US team pool.
