SM Foundation: Working for a better tomorrow

As businesses and enterprises grow, the more they become conscious of leaving behind a positive impact on various communities they serve. In recent years, businesses worldwide have invested in different corporate social responsibility initiatives that not just change the lives of the beneficiaries for the better, but also create added value for the company.

In the Philippines, one such conglomerate is SM Group. Since 1983, the company has been working for a better tomorrow by helping realize the UN sustainable development goals (SDGs). The foundation focuses on four of these goals: (1) No Poverty, (2) Zero Hunger, (3) Health and Well Being, (4) and Quality Education, through programs that benefit various host communities. These focus areas serve as drivers to create impact to the rest of the 17 SDGs.

As it celebrates its 35th anniversary this year, STARweek looks back at SM Foundation’s groundbreaking programs and achievements in each aspect.
