‘generations and directions’ at art anton
Since the first generation of postwar artists emerged, whence was nurtured our future National Artists, succeeding generations of Filipino artists have followed through the decades. “Generations and Directions” is an overview of contemporary abstract practices and persuasions by artists from different generations, currently at Art Anton.
The show features the works of Brisa Amir, Andre Baldovino, Kean Barrameda, Benjie Cabangis, John Cinco, Rico Lascano, Faye Pamintuan, Indy Paredes, Jay Ragma, Rodolfo Samonte, Nestor Vinluan, and Janice Young.
The works are intersections of various approaches that extend from the formalist concerns, to material manipulations, surface and ground explorations, to the digital imaging possibilities. “Generations and Directions” is on view until May 10.
