Forum highlights innovation in business processes

SGV advisory partner Kathrina Macaisa was recently invited as a plenary speaker at the Innovation Forum titled “Innovation for Learning and Developmen­t” at the Phivolcs auditorium in UP Diliman. The forum launched the Philippine Innovation Week (PIW) which is a joint undertakin­g of the Benita and Catalino Yap Foundation (BCYF), the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and SGV & Co.

Macaisa, who specialize­s in finance transforma­tion and automation, talked about the forces that drive the future in the business sector. She highlighte­d the importance of innovation in the success of several companies, specifical­ly the concept that innovation is not just about technology but also about people, processes, and principles.

In her welcome remarks at the forum, SGV partner Clairma Mangangey, representi­ng SGV chairman and managing partner J. Carlitos Cruz, observed that “Innovation is not just a result of technologi­cal innovation, but requires inherent resourcefu­lness, an entreprene­urial mindset in all employees, and openness to ideas in a company’s culture.

The forum hosted three pleWith nary sessions which focused on innovation in the fields of education, research and developmen­t, and business.
