‘Celebrate Garvida’
that call, the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th generations of the Garvida Clan answered the summon of their cherished genealogy.
The Garvidas from their hometown, Bangui and neighboring municipalities of Pagudpud and Dumalneg of Ilocos Norte, Metro Manila, Bulacan, Davao, Camarines Sur and from the United States, Canada and Australia gathered last April 23-24 at the Bangui National High School.
The activities of Celebrate Garvida included a motorcade and a grand reunion on the first day where the clan members were able to dine, share stories while others traced their roots through a 60-meter family tree.
Living up to the family tradition of service, a fun run and free medical mission and circumcision were conducted on the second day of the celebration.
A picnic held at the Pagudpud Municipal Beach served as a fitting finale to the event which was graced by DENR Secretary Roy Cimatu, an illustrious member of the clan who inspired his relatives to preserve and continue the legacy of their forebears.
