Costa Coffee pays courtesy visit to British Ambassador Daniel Pruce
The winner of Costa Coffee’s #SingYourWayToLondon contest, Jyl Orila, together with the brand’s marketing manager April Almonte and Awesome Planet’s Anton and Rachelle Diaz, recently paid a courtesy call to British Ambassador to the Philippines Daniel Pruce.
Orila outperformed other contestants with her outstanding 30-second video singing Adele’s Send my
Love, which she uploaded on Instagram as part of the promo’s me- chanics, ultimately winning an all- expense-paid trip to London. She was joined in the five-day tour of Central London by the Diaz couple and Costa Coffee’s regional marketing manager, Cindy Poh.
Ambassador Pruce warmly welcomed the Costa Coffee team and enthusiastically chatted with them about London and its many attractions. Orila and the Diaz couple shared their experiences, visiting popular tourist spots. The highlight of their itinerary was a day tour of Costa Coffee’s Roastery located in Basildon, which included a cupping demonstration and the chance to see Gennaro Pelliccia, touted to be the world’s most expensive tongue.
“I couldn’t stop talking about London, everything was just so surreal!” Orila shared with Ambassador Pruce. “I got to see famous landmarks, enjoyed great food, and even watched a play at the West End Theatre!” she added. The Awesome Planet couple, on the other hand, recounted their unforgettable food trips and noted that a lot of Filipino millennials whom they met are successfully running their own pop-up stores that showcase Filipino cuisine.
Ambassador Pruce encouraged them to let people know about their beautiful experiences so more Filipinos will be inspired to see London’s sights, tastes, and sounds. He also thanked and congratulated Costa Coffee for their successful campaign.
“We brought London’s best coffee shop to Manila; it was only fitting that we bring the Philippines’ best to see London,” Almonte said.
