Spanish fusion cuisine at Bless Las Paellas

-

Bless Las Paellas, a casual restaurant offering Spanish fusion cuisine and Filipino dishes, recently opened its fourth branch at Vista Mall in Taguig City. Other branches are located at BF Homes in Parañaque, Vista Mall Nuvali, and Promenade, Greenhills, San Juan City.

Jessie Maloles, also known as the queen of paella, said that travels with her business partner, Bless founder Nelson Mendoza, inspired the recipes at Bless Las Paellas.

“I just love to eat,” said Maloles. “The dishes at Bless Las Paellas were inspired by the restaurants we visited abroad. We did some research about the food, that’s why some of our dishes are a fusion of Spanish-Filipino.”

Bless Las Paellas opened in May 2017 and serves three kinds of paella: Marinera, Valenciana, and Negra. Aside from paella, the restaurant serves lengua, gambas and Filipino food such as crispy kare-kare, sisig, and short ribs caldereta.

Born in Davao City and having grown up in General Santos City, Maloles exudes a happy disposition. “When I was younger, I was a happy child,” she says. “I was industrious, according to my parents.”

She was also a former beauty queen who represented the Philippines at the Mrs. Asia International 2014 beauty pageant held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Crowned first runner-up, she also bagged two special awards: Best In Image and Top 5 Best in Talent.

Now Maloles wished to build a foundation for the poor. “I want to establish the Jessie Maloles Foundation,” she says. “I want to give back in the form of community service. I want to be with them and treat them during my birthday celebrations.”
