Malolot, Soto fastest finishers in duathlon

Mark Malolot of DeRosa-Corsa and Jennifer Soto of Team TriDelta cashed in on ideal conditions to dominate their respective divisions in the Clark Global City Duathlon in Clark Global City, Pampanga last Sunday.

Malolot clocked two hours, 22 minutes, 32 seconds to clinch the overall crown in the 6km run-60km bike-4km run event and emerge the 18-24 age-group champion.

Team Podium BF Baguio’s Edison Morales settled for second overall but topped the 40-44 age group in 2:25:58 while Sante Barley’s Don Velasco placed third overall and likewise bagged first place in the 30-34 category in 2:28:31.

Soto also breached the three-hour mark, turning in a 2:59:31 clocking to cop the overall crown in the distaff side. She also topped the 40-44 age group.

Fellow age-grouper Paynet-Amigo Tri’s Camilla BrooksChua finished second in 3:02:04 while Century Tri Hard’s Tiffany Batilo clocked 3:03:36 to rule the 35-39 category.
