Culinary family favorites at Sofitel for Mother’s Day

Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila offers household dishes from May 11-13. Join celebrity mothers Christine Jacob-Sandejas and Suzi Entrata-Abrera as they collaborat­e with Spiral’s Master Chefs.

Christine teams up with French master chef Julien Cosse in showcasing family favorite Calamari Fritti, Beef Lasagna and Tiramisu, while Suzi Abrera teams up with Japanese chef Masaaki Ishigawa to create curry salmon maki and California maki. Other specialtie­s dedicated by Spiral’s Master Chefs to their mothers include Beef Tongue with Pickled Sauce from the French Stove, Yong Tau Fu from the Chinese Wok, Bengali Mustard Fish Curry from the North Indian Atelier, Flower Pork Belly Shabu-Shabu and Cake Sushi from the Japanese Atelier, Clam Stew with Basil from the Thai Atelier, Fried Fish with Chili Paste Sauce from the Korean Atelier and Menudo from the Filipino Atelier.

Prizes from Elizabeth Arden await winning mothers spending the day with their children in twinning-inspired ensembles.

On May 11 (Friday), lunch is set at P2,750 per person while dinner is set at P3,550 per person. All rates include taxes and service charge. On May 12 (Saturday), lunch is P3,450 per person while dinner is P3,550 per person. On May 13 (Sunday), lunch is P4,655 per person while dinner is P3,550 per person.

The poolside barbecue buffet at Sofitel’s Sunset Bar offers Filipino fare like grilled seafood and meats, fresh salads, native desserts and tropical fruits with free-flowing iced tea, local beers and cocktails. As a special treat, moms get a compliment­ary glass of wine.

The Sunset Bar Mother’s Day Special Barbecue Buffet will be held from May 11 to 13, 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Rate is set at P3,119.75 per person.

At Le Bar there will be a Mother’s Day brunch on May 13. This bespoke dining experience features an appetizing soup, hearty entrée and decadent dessert.
