GMA 7 & FFCCCII to rebuild public schools in marawi
GMA Kapuso Foundation, Inc. (GMAKF) led by GMA Network, Inc. chairman lawyer Felipe Gozon recently received its biggest donation of P2.25M from Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) led by president Domingo Yap to support its Rebuild Marawi Project in Lanao del Sur province in Mindanao.
GMAKF and FFCCCII will rebuild and rehabilitate three public schools in the heart of war-torn Marawi. FFCCCII has its longstanding civic project of donating and constructing public schoolbuildings to poor areas all over the Philippines called Operation Barrio Schools.
With chairman Gozon at the turnover of the FFCCCII check donation and ceremonial presentation of public school scale model were GMA president Gilberto Duavit Jr., GMA Kapuso Foundation EVP and COO Rikki Escudero-Catibog and GMA VP for corporate affairs and communications Angel Javier Cruz. Accompanying FFCCCII president Yap at the donation turnover were officers EVP Henry Lim Bon Liong, VP Mary Ng, VP William Gosiaco and others.
FFCCCII has also previously extended assistance worth P 10.1M for the families of fallen Marawi soldiers and policemen as well as conducted relief operations for Marawi. Another major project FFCCCII has spearheaded is the Filipino Chinese community’s multi-sectoral and nationwide Marawi Rehabilitation Fund Drive, which has raised over P180M for other projects to help Marawi.
Yap said, “On behalf of the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc., I am pleased to turn over our donation of P2.25M to GMA Kapuso Foundation to rehabilitate schools in Marawi City. We hope that this will beef up efforts for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of destroyed public schools… This school building program is a humble donation from the federation to help our brothers and sisters, especially the youth of Marawi, as they recover and rebuild their lives. We are honored to join GMA Kapuso Foundation for this project. More power to GMA 7 and GMA Kapuso Foundation.”
Catibog said FFCCCII is GMAKF’s biggest donor for its Rebuild Marawi Project which aims to improve the lives of the children in Marawi.
