Two young Filipino performers will represent the country in the annual ChildAid Asia Concert on May 20 at the Suntory Hall in Tokyo. They are Hong Kongbased Yumi Chung (right) and Misha Romano (photo) from Dipolog City.

Eleven-year-old Yumi is an accomplished singer, dancer, commercial and print model, and TV actress in Hong Kong. Soon, she will star in a movie to be released in Hong Kong and China. In spite of her busy schedule, Yumi manages to maintain her ranking in the Top 10 of her class and even takes guitar and voice lessons, and golf lessons on weekends.

Misha, on the other hand, is a 17-yearold violinist who will display through his performance an interesting mix of passion and fiery temperament embodying the essence of Filipino soul. He attends home school and receives his violin lessons from the US via Skype.

Together with other young talented representatives from Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore, Yumi and Misha will undergo an intense threeday rehearsal prior to the concert. A school visit is also part of their activities.

The concert aims at capturing the heart and mind of the audience through songs. ChildAid Asia funds the education and training of the less-fortunate individuals in the field of music and the arts.

Little Creators NPO hosts the Tokyo concert.
