Our choices define our future

-

Healthy Options continues to support healthy lifestyles and focuses on four key principles anchored around the idea that “our choices define our future.”

Since its inception in 1995, Healthy Options has offered products that are good for people’s bodies and kind to the environment. The company’s new initiative, that presents four key elements to help people inch their way to a healthier world, also reflects its commitment in providing sustainably sourced products and practices aligned with wellness. 1. When it comes to beauty, choose cruelty-free. Healthy Options bats for the protection of millions of animals from unnecessary suffering and death. It enjoins everyone to say no to brands that do animal testing. Switching to cruelty-free cosmetics and cleaning products opens people’s eyes to products that are healthier for them and better for the environment. Interestingly, consumer interest in natural ingredients has grown the past few years.

2. When it comes to what we eat,

choose organic and natural. An increasing number of consumers are realizing the benefits of shunning processed foods and have become interested in simpler, organic, natural or fresher food alternatives. “For us at Healthy Options, organic is — and has always been — more than just the absence of chemical additives, preservatives, pesticides and other harmful ingredients. It is all about ethical food, or Food With Conscience,” Healthy Options’ man-at-the-helm Romy Sia said. The company supports sustainable farming and has partnered with local farmers who grow food without damaging the environment.

3. “Hate waste.” Food is a valuable resource to be consumed responsibly and treated with respect. The company has always encouraged people to reduce avoidable food waste. It can be done through simple changes in planning, shopping, storing ingredients, preparing meals, and handling leftovers. As Healthy Options puts it, “We believe in loving food, so we choose to hate waste.”

4. Say “no” to plastics that imperil animals. Wildlife dies because they end up entangled in plastic or eating plastic that is tossed away. It is time people take a hard look at how plastics are used every day. Healthy Options has encouraged the use of reusable bags, and has pushed for the use of recyclable glass bottles (that lead to 50 percent less water pollution) in place of plastics.
