Tanauan rips Negros, grabs LL srs leads

Tanauan stamped its class on defending champion Negros Occidental, 12-0, yesterday to show the way in the Senior League Softball division of the 2018 Little League Philippine Series National Finals in Cabuyao.

The Tanauan softbelles outduelled the Negrenses and didn’t let the holders get going in the battle of unbeaten sides en route to booking their third straight win.

Negros, which opened with triumphs over Dumaguete (10-0) and Bulacan (1-0), slipped to 2-1.

Bulacan stayed within striking distance of the leader as it posted its second consecutiv­e win at the expense of Saranggani, 8-0, for a 2-1 card.

In the other game, Dumaguete got on track after a 0-2 start as it broke through with a 15-4 rout of Kidapawan.

In juniors’ softball play, Bulacan and Pasig each improved to 1-1 after disposing of Dumaguete, 16-0, and Saranggani, 11-2, respective­ly.

Meanwhile, Negros’ title defense over in Little League Softball continued to roll as the Negrenses booked Win No. 3 with a 12-0 shortwork of Saranggani. Cavite also maintained its undefeated slate after ekeing out a 14-11 verdict over Agoncillo.

Over in seniors’ baseball, Tanauan rallied past Muntinlupa in extra inning, 12-9, to go 3-0 while sending its prey reeling to its second loss in three outings.
