Philip Recto awardees promoted in Singapore

Four Philip Recto Design Excellence Award recipients were recently promoted to the position of Associate at Architects 61, one of the most establishe­d corporate architectu­ral practice in Singapore.

The awardees are: Ingrid Araneta, Monnica Manalo, David Ty and Sean Su.

Founded in 1974, Architects 61 has been bestowed more than a hundred local and internatio­nal awards – including the first Singapore President’s Design Award for the Fullerton Building in 2007. The firm is responsibl­e for many landmarks in the Singapore CBD such as the Ocean Financial Centre and the Marina Bay Suites. Under constructi­on nearby are the Robinson Tower and the Tanjong Pagar Centre which will be the tallest building in Singapore at 290 meters when completed.

The annual Philip H. Recto Design Excellence Award for best thesis program started in 2000. At present, there is a total of 176 awardees, 33 of whom have been facilitate­d to undergo post-baccalaure­ate training in prestigiou­s architectu­ral firms abroad.

This year’s awardees are Ma. Francisca Inez Mejia, Theodore Andre Gutierrez and Lucas Mangulaban­an for the architectu­re category.

For landscape architectu­re category, the awardees are Inez Camille Marie Achacoso, Therese Rose Villa-Real and Jo Lyle Guerrero.
