Philip Recto awardees promoted in Singapore
Four Philip Recto Design Excellence Award recipients were recently promoted to the position of Associate at Architects 61, one of the most established corporate architectural practice in Singapore.
The awardees are: Ingrid Araneta, Monnica Manalo, David Ty and Sean Su.
Founded in 1974, Architects 61 has been bestowed more than a hundred local and international awards – including the first Singapore President’s Design Award for the Fullerton Building in 2007. The firm is responsible for many landmarks in the Singapore CBD such as the Ocean Financial Centre and the Marina Bay Suites. Under construction nearby are the Robinson Tower and the Tanjong Pagar Centre which will be the tallest building in Singapore at 290 meters when completed.
The annual Philip H. Recto Design Excellence Award for best thesis program started in 2000. At present, there is a total of 176 awardees, 33 of whom have been facilitated to undergo post-baccalaureate training in prestigious architectural firms abroad.
This year’s awardees are Ma. Francisca Inez Mejia, Theodore Andre Gutierrez and Lucas Mangulabanan for the architecture category.
For landscape architecture category, the awardees are Inez Camille Marie Achacoso, Therese Rose Villa-Real and Jo Lyle Guerrero.
