Two suspected drug dealers were killed in what police said was a shootout during a sting in Quezon City before dawn yesterday.

The fatalities, known only as Buboy and Bulak, died at the scene from multiple gunshots to the body.

Chief Superintendent Joselito Esquivel Jr., director of the Quezon City Police District, said the suspects sold a sachet of shabu to a policeman who posed as a buyer in Barangay Holy Spirit at around 2:15 a.m.

When they sensed they were dealing with police, the suspects opened fire at the authorities who retaliated.

Probers said they recovered two .38-caliber handguns, at least two grams of shabu worth P10,000, drug paraphernalia and P500 in marked money from the suspects.

In eastern Metro Manila, seven persons were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in the past two days.

Juvy Verano, 18, and his 15-year-old companion were collared in a sting along Angel Santos street in Barangay Tumana, Marikina City.

They allegedly yielded seven sachets of shabu and P900 in marked money.

Five other drug suspects were nabbed by police in Pasig, Mandaluyong and San Juan City.

They were Nanir Apostol, Jeffrey Bondoc, Diosdado Belita, Harold Paul Sarmiento and a minor.

Krista Miller acquitted

Meanwhile, a Valenzuela City court has acquitted actress Krista Miller of drug charges.

In a resolution dated May 22, Miller, whose real name is Krystalyn Engle, was cleared by the Valenzuela Regional Trial Court Branch 283 of violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

She was freed from prison on May 25.

Miller was nabbed by antinarcotics operatives during a sting at a gasoline station in the city in September 2016.
