MIDEA WELCOMES AGE OF SMART MANUFACTURING

“Welcome to the age of smart manufacturing!” This was the opening statement made by Mike Dauden, Director for Commercial Air Conditioning of Concepcion Midea Inc., in his speech during the 2018 BCI Asia Top Ten Awards held at Shangri La The Fort where Concepcion Midea was the official awards partner for this annual event honouring the country’s top ten developers and architects.

Dauden’s speech came after a video presentation of Midea’s manufacturing capability employing over 800 robots as part of it’s Industry 4.0 initiative. He also spoke about the recent mergers and acquisitions by the Midea group such as German robotics company Kuka, Italian chiller manufacturer Clivet and taking over the appliance business of Japanese brand Toshiba.

“To label Midea as just another China brand would be quite inaccurate at this point” continues Dauden who revealed that Midea is now a Global Fortune 500 company which leverages on the technological expertise of thousands of engineers and doctorate degree holders from all over the world. In closing, Dauden states that the global resources of Midea backed up by the local presence and infrastructure of the Concepcion group has become the “secret sauce” that has enabled Concepcion Midea to grow at such an unprecedented pace in the past few years.
