2 drug suspects slain; P6.8-M shabu seized
SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – Two suspected drug pushers were killed in alleged shootouts with police officers in San Simon and San Luis towns in this province yesterday.
Rodel Viray, a resident of Barangay San Juan in San Simon, and his unidentified companion fired at police officers during a drug bust in Barangay San Miguel at about 3:20 a.m., Chief Inspector Louie Gonzaga, San Simon police chief, said.
Abelardo Torres, 27, a resident of Barangay Bagong Baliuag, Bulacan, drew his gun when he sensed he had sold shabu to an undercover agent in San Luis, police said.
In Maguindanao, packs of shabu with an estimated street value of P6.8 million were recovered in Datu Odin Sinsuat town on Friday.
Juvenal Azurin, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao director, said Salma Talib, a public elementary school teacher, and her companions Saiden Yusa, Mahmod Dimudtang and Nasser Pasawilan were caught in a sting at a gasoline station along the CotabatoIsulan Highway in Barangay Awang.
In Cagayan, Bonalin Millan, 46, a barangay kagawad was arrested after sachets of shabu were allegedly recovered during a raid on his house in Barangay Minanga West, Buguey.
Police said Millan surrendered under Oplan Tokhang in 2016.
