Agusan inmate commits suicide

BUTUAN CITY – An inmate at the Agusan del Norte provincial jail reportedly committed suicide yesterday.

Bonifacio Pagaran was found hanging with a shirt looped around his neck, jail warden Fermin Tenorio said.

Tenorio claimed Pagaran, who was charged with rape, tried to escape on Sunday by scaling the perimeter fence.

Pagaran also reportedly tried to commit suicide last month by drinking bleach.
