3 cops arrested over cockfights

SAN JOSE DEL MONTE, Bulacan – Three police officers were among six persons arrested in this city on Sunday for illegal cockfighting.

Police Officer 2 Michael Somido, PO1 Raymond Meneses and PO1 Rhovel Araceli, all assigned in Metro Manila; traffic aide Albert delos Reyes and city council employee Amelito Bascon were collared in Barangay Gaya-Gaya along with civilian Rodrigo Gojocruz.

The service firearms of Somido and Meneses were confiscated. Five fighting cocks and several gaffs were also reportedly recovered from the suspects.
