Couple who abandoned baby arrested

TUGUEGARAO, Cagayan – Police arrested a couple who abandoned their three-month-old baby in their rented room in Santiago, Isabela on Friday.

Chief Inspector Rolando Gatan, city police chief, said Roldan Isaac, 27, and his partner Riza Anol, 23, were in a passenger bus bound for Manila when they were collared in Solano, Nueva Vizcaya.

The baby was discovered by the couple’s landlady at around 5 p.m.

The couple were charged with violation of the Anti-Child Abuse Law while the infant was turned over to the city’s social welfare office.
