Two boys wade in stagnant water

at the Baseco Compound in Manila yesterday. The Department of Health has warned that leptospirosis cases in Metro Manila are rising. The DOH attributed the surge to floods caused by heavy rains, which may be contaminated with the urine of rats infected with the Leptospira bacteria.
