Blaze Spikers open bid vs Tornadoes in Cadiz

Petron takes on a struggling Foton side today, looking for a fiery start to its Chooks to Go-Philippine Superliga Invitational Conference debut at the Cadiz Arena in Negros Occidental.

Coming off a victory in the PSL Grand Prix, the Blaze Spikers kick off their drive for a second crown against the Tornadoes, who are off to a poor start with back-to-back losses.

But those setbacks could motivate them to turn in their best when they face the Blaze Spikers at 7 p.m.

“This Invitational is very unpredictable because all teams are tough to beat,” said Petron head coach Shaq delos Santos. “We need to be more prepared every game. This conference and give our best to show a great competition.”

Meanwhile, defending champion Cignal shoots for its third straight win as it faces Sta. Lucia Realty in the 4:15 p.m. opening encounter of the explosive twinbill bankrolled by Isuzu, UCPB Gen and Sogo Hotel with ESPN5, Hyper HD and Aksyon TV as broadcast partners and backed by Senoh, Asics, Mikasa, Mueller and Grand Sport as technical sponsors.
