Drug war: 6 suspects slain

Four suspects were killed in drug raids in Bulacan and one each in Pampanga and Quezon in the past two days.

An alias Erwin and alias Bino shot it out with anti-narcotics agents in Barangay Taal, Bocaue and Maronquill­o, San Rafael, respective­ly, before dawn yesterday, police said.

An alias Jesssie allegedly engaged police officers in a shootout in Barangay Poblacion in Pulilan town, and a man identified only as Sonny Boy in Malhacan, Meycauayan on Thursday.

Police said two .38-caliber revolvers, a .45-caliber pistol, a caliber .22, 24 sachets of shabu, a tricycle and a motorcycle were recovered from the fatalities.

In Pampanga, a certain Ronelio, a resident of Baliuag, Bulacan, reportedly drew his gun when he sensed he had sold shabu to undercover agents in Barangay Concepcion, San Simon at around 2:30 a.m. yesterday.

Police said the slain suspect was a “notorious” drug peddler in San Simon.

In Quezon, “high-value” target Fernando Ibanez was shot dead after he reportedly fired at police officers who raided a suspected drug den in Barangay Cotta, Lucena yesterday.

Senior Superinten­dent Osmundo de Guzman, Quezon police director, said nine persons, including a 16-year-old, were arrested after they were caught in a shabu session.

Police said 11 sachets of shabu and drug parapherna­lia were recovered from the suspects.

In Ilocos Norte, Charles Bryan Angel Aliga, 20, a Sanggunian­g Kabataan kagawad in Barangay 49-B, Laoag, was arrested after selling marijuana leaves worth P500 in a sting in Barangay 23, San Matias on Thursday.

Police said the suspect is on the barangay drug watchlist.
