Rowling trolls Trump over ‘pour’ spelling
LONDON — “Harry Potter” author J.K. Rowling poked fun at US President Donald Trump after he sent out a grammatically incorrect tweet about his “great” writing prowess, according to a report on Yahoo News.
The tweet in question, which has since been deleted, read: “After having written many best selling books, and somewhat priding myself on my ability to write, it should be noted that the Fake News constantly likes to pour over my tweets looking for a mistake. I capitalize certain words for emphasis, not b/c they should be capitalized!”
Rowling tweeted a dozen “hahahahahahas” over the president’s use of “pour over,” which, according to Merriam-Webster dictionary, means to make expensive coffee. The correct term is “pore over” which means to read or study carefully.
Some netizens agreed with Rowling, blasting Trump’s inanity while others defended the president, saying Rowling should just “stick to writing books” and not politics.
This is not the first time that Trump committed grammar or spelling errors on his Twitter. In December 2016, Trump tweeted about the “unpresident” act of China capturing a US Navy research drone.
