THE FORD ACADEMY OF THE ARTS: DAVAO’S FIRST COLLEGE OF FINE ARTS
As a university town, Davao’s schools have been key in promoting a greater appreciation of arts in the area. The Ford Academy of the Arts, the first college of Fine Arts in Mindanao, was first established by art patron and literary writer Ms. Aida Rivera Ford as the Learning Center of the Arts in 1980.
Renamed as the Ford Academy of the Arts, recent developments in its academic direction have included arts and design tracks for a younger group of students, as well as further structural developments for existing fine arts classes.
