BONG PEREZ: ART AND THE BEAUTY OF GOD’S CREATION

-

Teody Boylie “Bong” Perez received his BFA in painting from the Ford Academy of the Arts before leaving for Japan to study for his MFA in Saga University.

His art, he says, is an expression of his appreciation for God’s creation, and his works in oil and acrylic feature landscapes, culture and people, depicting urban social conditions in colorful detail. He has had solo exhibitions in Hiroshima, Saga and Fukuoka; several of his works are in private collections in the Philippines, Germany, France, the US, New Zealand and Japan.

Bong has been an art educator most of his life — working for seven years as an art instructor at the Philippine Science High School, and presently teaching art and the Japanese language at the University of the Philippines Mindanao.
