RODNEY YAP: CONTEMPORARY IMAGERIES
Rodney Yap tells stories in the context of time and space. His art inspires to create a better place, instilling love, and respect towards creation. A postmodernist artist, he explores symbolism, surrealism and abstraction, creating “contemporary imageries based on analysis and experimentation.”
A graduate of the Ford Academy of the Arts, Rodney is an art instructor at the Philippine Women’s College in Davao. Rodney is also an internationally recognized visual artist who has joined group shows in the region, and has mounted solo exhibits in Manila, Singapore, Shanghai, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, Germany, Brussels, Rotterdam. He is the first Filipino artist to exhibit in Poland with his Primeval series in 2013.
Rodney has represented the country as the featured artist in the Art Plus Expo in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and was part of the Philippine delegation to the X Florence Biennale in Italy, both in 2015.
