What’s Coco trying to show?

- RICARDO F. LO

Take a good look at the photos of Coco Martin and Yassi Pressman on this page, taken from the Dreamscape

Instagram. Many (this one included) of those who saw the pictures suspect that there’s “something” between them more than being make-believe husband and wife Cardo and Alyana in the unbeatable, still-top-rating

Ang Probinsyano which is marking its third anniversary next month.

The big questions are: 1). Is the reel turning into real?, 2). Is Coco falling for Yassi offcam?, and 3). Yassi is known for being fancy-free so she could easily fall for Coco, couldn’t she?

The series of photos surfaced on social media on the heels of a “stolen” shot of Coco and Yassi kissing inside a tent on the set of Probinsyano, although Coco clarified in a Funfare interview that there was nothing to it, that it was meaningless, taken (daw) while other people were around. Did that photo gone viral make Coco’s “secret” girlfriend Julia Montes jealous?

During a recent ABS-CBN show in London, Coco and Yassi were photographed on a sidewalk with shopping bags around them, with one photo showing Yassi bending forward covering her breast and Coco (lovingly?) looking on. On ASAP last Sunday, Coco and Yassi did a number capped with them in an embrace.

More question: Are Coco and Julia going through something (may pinagdadaanan) and he’s simply “teasing” (if not making) Julia jealous? Of course, if they ever break up, they can’t admit it because they haven’t confirmed that they are “on” in the first place.

At 36, Coco is of marrying age. But then, even if he wanted to, he simply could not because of some “impediment.”

Meanwhile, Coco and co-star Vic Sotto are firming up Jack Em Popoy:

Puliscredibles, their 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry with Maine Mendoza as the newest member of the cast (that’s why the original “en” in the title was changed to “em”), which will be pitted against Fantastika, The Princesses, The Prince, The Perya which stars Vice Ganda (the current MMFF “Box Office King”), Richard Gutierrez and Dingdong Dantes. A box-office battle to watch for, isn’t it? Incidentally, as of the latest report, Puliscredibles will be directed by Mike Tuviera instead of Coco as initially announced.

Loose ends

Could it be true that Ai-Ai delas Alas has quit as manager of Ex Battalion

because the boys have become too “sakit sa ulo” to handle? Admittedly, Ex B became more mabango and more indemand when Ai-Ai served as its manager. Ai-Ai is now finalizing the formation of an all-girl group as Ex B’s counterpart.

From lawyer Ferdinand = Topacio, this rejoinder to a recent Funfare item about screen names: Andoy Balunbalunan is a real, not a screen, name. That’s why his wife was named Dely Atayatayan.

Congratulations to Jose = Mari Chan whose two songs occupy the Top 2 spots on the list of the Philippines’ 25 best-selling albums: Christmas in Our Hearts (No. 1) with over one million copies sold; and Constant Change (No. 2), also over one million.
