SsangYong unveils 2018 Tivoli, XLV

- By MANNY N. DE LOS REYES

SSANGYONG Berjaya Motor Philippines (SBMP), exclusive distributor of SsangYong automobiles and parts in the country, recently introduced the 2018 Tivoli Premium Sport, which comes with an upgraded interior, and the updated Tivoli XLV. Both receive substantial design improvements and spec upgrades to deliver a more refined crossover experience.

“We are proud to announce the new-for-2018 lineup of SsangYong vehicles,” shares David Macasadia, managing director of SBMP. “It makes us happy to be able to bring to the public such a range of stylish, yet practical, vehicles which complement not only their active lifestyles but also the reality of daily living. SsangYong vehicles represent the wise choice among the myriad of offerings from our competitors. Proudly made in South Korea, our lineup not only offers style but also substance with true usability and realiability minus the penalties of expensive maintenance.”

The Tivoli Premium Sport, with its 1.6-liter e-Xgi160 gasoline engine, is the brand’s leading nameplate. This new variant underscores its youthful vibe by featuring a cleaner and more unified bumper design along with a bolder fog lamp. In addition, a brighter silver hue has been applied to its 18inch machine-finished wheels, further complementing the new two-tone body color finish.

Inside, the Tivoli Premium Sport’s leather seats are now equipped with an all-new cooling function. Working in conjunction with the existing dual climate control feature, both the driver and front row passenger can now adjust their seats’ warmth and coolness. Furthemore, the 2018 Tivoli Premium Sports’ new brown leather accents give the interiors a touch of class and refinement rarely found at this price point.

The 2018 Tivoli XLV, meanwhile, unergoes practical design changes that make vehicle operation more intuitive. Control buttons now find their way on the steering wheel for easier operation of infotainment functions.

Its torquey 1.6-liter turbodiesel engine still retains a Euro IV rating which contributes to achieving superior fuel efficiency with minimal impact on the environment. Rated at 22.35 km/l, this is the same e-Xdi160 engine line that has given the Tivoli XLV excellent reviews in recently concluded fuel economy runs organized by Petron.

The 2018 Tivoli Premium Sport and XLV are now equipped with a proper spare tire which replaces the tire repair kit from earlier releases.

All new SsangYong vehicles continue to enjoy free Preventive Maintenance Service (PMS) for three years or 60,000 kilometers, whichever comes first. Also standard is the extended fiveyear warranty coverage. “The brand lives up to its promise to deliver total customer satisfaction by ensuring toplevel service and providing free PMS for three years,” adds Macasadia. “We have also extended our product’s warranty coverage from two to five years and this innovation, which we undertook in 2017, has made owning a SsangYong vehicle a truly satisfying experience.”

The 2018 Tivoli Premium Sport retails for P1,160,000 while the more spacious 2018 Tivoli XLV Diesel starts at P1,180,000 for the 4x2 variant.
