Denim for days

The out-of-this-world interactive exhibit by Guess makes us wish it were still summer.

When we think of summer, we think of long nights, creative energy, and a surplus of content for the ‘gram. That’s just not the case this season anymore, but that didn’t stop Guess Philippines from hosting the hottest fashion exhibit to launch the Guess USA summer 2018 collection just in time for the international release.

Last July 27-29, Whitespace Manila was transformed into an out-of-this-world interactive exhibit that featured multi-sensory booths that represented the denim brand we all love. Guests served killer lewks — wearing their top Guess picks, of course — in the light and mirror installation. They even brought the party to the ‘gram as they flooded the feed and left everyone else with a serious case of FOMO. Mural artists like Dee Jae Paeste let the creativity flow in other channels as they painted on giant blank canvases that served as the backdrop for the main stage. For the guests who also caught the creativity bug, the DIY workshop station that let them customize their own tote bags was the main event.

But the highlight of the three-day affair was The Denim Jacket exhibit in which Guess invited some of our fave graphic designers, illustrators and artists to interpret the Guess denim jacket in their own style. Graphic artist Raxenne Maniquiz took the classic denim jacket in white and painted on her signature detailed florals for maximum freshness. Steph Alvarez’s bold choice of colors and realistic render of a giant eye made his take on the Guess denim jacket a true eye catcher. But the best thing about these customized classic Guess denim jackets is that they can be worn throughout any season.

And what’s a summer party without chic clothing and cool beats? Pieces from the Guess USA summer 2018 collection were out on display to steal some hearts while musical acts like Oh! Flamingo, She’s Only Sixteen, and Dante and Amigo kept the chill vibe going throughout the three-day exhibit.

Guess might’ve just thrown the sickest summer party ever and this one is going to be hard to top. Can it be summer again already?
