The regional party of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte has turned over P500,000 to Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte to aid in the relief operations of flood victims in the city in the past week.

Belmonte received the P500,000 financial assistance during the launch of the Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) alliance in Parañaque on Monday.

The provincial government of Pampanga, represented by Gov. Lilia Pineda, also received P500,000 financial assistance.

“Thank you once again with all of our hearts, Mayor Sara Duterte, for the financial assistance you gave to Quezon City as well as the province of Pampanga to help us provide relief to our flood victims,” Belmonte told the presidential daughter.

“We assure you of utmost transparency by reporting to you and the people of Quezon City how each centavo was spent,” she added.

Duterte said the aid came from her allies who asked for the cash assistance to be used for the evacuation centers housing hundreds of families who were forced to vacate their homes.

She expressed gratitude to Belmonte and Pineda for joining the event despite their busy involvement in relief operations for their constituents.

Belmonte’s Serbisyo sa Bayan Party and Pineda’s Kambilan Pampanga were among the nine national and regional parties that forged an alliance with Duterte’s HNP this week.

Also joining the alliance were the Nacionalista Party, Nationalist People’s Coalition, National Unity Party, Alyansa Bol-anon Alang sa Kausaban of Bohol, Aggrupation of Party for Progress of Zamboanga del Norte, Ilocano Timpuyog/Nacionalista Party–Ilocos Norte Chapter and PaDayon Pilipino of Misamis Occidental.
