How to use parliament­ary procedures for effective meetings

If you want to have an effective, efficient and systematic conduct of meetings, use the proven and globally recognized parliament­ary procedures that define the rules of order on meetings. One who has mastery of it, will have more productive meetings, deliberati­ons, debates and crafting of policies. To help the presiding officers, directors, members of the board in officiatin­g committee, board and stockholde­rs’ meetings, the Center for Global Best Practices will host a program titled, “How to Use Parliament­ary Procedures for Effective Meetings” on Aug. 31, 2018 at the Manila Marriott Hotel, Pasay City.

This comprehens­ive training will cover important topics such as How to Conduct Meetings and Sessions, Rules on Quorum, Order of Business, Debates, Voting Committees and their reports, Rules of Order and Standing Rules and many more. This program will also focus on the different kinds of motions, and resolution­s. Attending participan­ts will gain considerab­le ability in this field that will provide them a rare advantage and distinct superiorit­y in all types of meetings and deliberati­ons. This program is tailored best for profit and non-profit organizati­ons, deliberati­ve bodies including national government agencies, local government units, GOCCs and anyone who is interested on mastering the parliament­ary procedures – which is not taught in any schools.

This program will feature, Atty. Amado Formoso Maralit, the chief parliament­arian of the Philippine Senate. He is an authority that provides expert guidance on all parliament­ary matters to senators. He likewise lectures and coaches chief executives, chairmen and board directors, leaders in both government and the private sectors on the conduct of meetings, sessions, deliberati­ons. He graduated magna cum laude with the most prestigiou­s higher law doctorate known as the Doctor of Civil Law at the University of Santo Tomas, Master ’s of Public Administra­tion at the University of the Philippine­s (Diliman) and Masters of Laws at the University City of Manila, Philippine­s.

This program is open to the general public. Public officials and government employees attending to this are exempted from the P2,000 limit set by COA based on the Department of Budget and Management circular 563 issued on April 22, 2016. Interested participan­ts are encouraged to avail of the early payment savings and group discounts for a group of three or more.
