Megaworld expands residential footprint in Iloilo Business Park

- By IRIS GONZALES

Andrew Tan’s flagship property firm Megaworld Corp. is expanding its residential footprint inside its 72-hectare Iloilo Business Park in Iloilo City.

The company is adding another wing to Saint Dominique, its seventh residential tower in the township amid brisk demand and strong sales, said Jennifer Palmares-Fong, vice president for sales and marketing.

“The interest in Iloilo Business Park has built up to a level that we have never expected. Since the launch of the two hotels, the Festive Walk Mall and Festive Walk Parade, more people want to live in the township,” Fong said.

The 10-story Saint Dominique South Wing will offer 152 additional prime residential units, right at the heart of Iloilo Business Park just within the stretch of Festive Walk Parade and across Richmonde Hotel Iloilo and the Iloilo Convention Center.

Sizes will range from studio units of up to 35 square meters; one-bedroom units of up to 50 sqm; two-bedroom units of up to 79 sqm; and to loft units of up to 38.5 sqm.

Among the different units, selected studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units have their own balconies overlooking the township’s landscape.

Total residential units in Iloilo Business Park alone have already reached 1,819 with an aggregate take-up of around 90 percent to date.

Just like Saint Honore residential tower and the north wing of Saint Dominique, the South Wing still captures the Parisian lifestyle, with the building’s classic architectural design patterned after those in the famous streets of Paris.

The new wing will also have a landscaped atrium, and it will share amenities with the North Wing, which include the swimming pool and kiddie pool, pool lounge, Jacuzzi, fitness center, event halls, game room, day care center, children’s playground and an indoor spa.

“Our residential pipeline is always demand-driven. If there will be more people looking for residential properties in the township, then we will continue to offer more residential properties,” said Palmares-Fong.

The company also formally opened the doors of its P2.2 billion Festive Walk Mall in the business park last month.

The mall offers 90,000 square meters of gross floor area of shopping, dining, leisure and entertainment, highlighted by Iloilo’s most state-of-the-art cinemas, which include VIP cinemas that offer full butler service with unlimited popcorn and drinks, and reclining leather seats with food tray and LED lamp as well as adjustable footrest.

Some cinemas also feature the latest Dolby Atmos sound technology, the first in Western Visayas.

These include the city’s first Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, TGIFriday’s, Korean stores Mumuso and Nature Republic, La Lola Churreria, Furniture Republic, Metro Dental, Binondo’s renowned Henry’s Camera store, DIY Store and Japan Home Center.

The mall will also be home to Wilcon Home Essentials, Wilcon’s first mallbased store in the whole of Visayas.

There will also be two anchor supermarkets: Festive Market by Savemore and Marketplace by Rustan’s, which marks its first entry in the Western Visayas region.
