A newly designated official of Pasay City police was gunned down Tuesday afternoon.

Police Inspector Allan Ortega, deputy commander of the Pasay City police’s community precinct (PCP) 4, was declared dead on arrival at the San Juan de Dios Hospital due to four gunshot wounds in his neck, cheek and knee.

Ortega was driving his owner-type jeep with plate number URG-805 along Andrews Avenue near Gate 2 of the Light Rail Transit-1 depot in Barangay 190 around 4:35 p.m. on Tuesday, police reported.

Suddenly, the gunman who was driving a motorcycle without a license plate drove on to Ortega, shot him repeatedly and sped off.

Police later revealed that the suspect might have used a .45 caliber gun to kill Ortega.

He has been assigned as official of the said precinct for around a month now, his superior PCP-4 commander Senior Inspector Crisanto Racoma said.

The Pasay City police has formed a special investigation team focused on Ortega’s killing.
