Pickup, SUV fall into ravine; 4 dead

BAGUIO CITY – Four persons died and seven others were injured when a sport utility vehicle and a pickup fell into ravines in Mountain Province on Tuesday.

Two unidentifi­ed passengers of a Toyota Land Cruiser, which plunged into a ravine 250 meters deep in Sitio Palatong, Barangay Tambingan in Sabangan town at around 7 a.m., were declared dead on arrival in a hospital.

Five other passengers suffered serious injuries and were taken to the Luis Hora Regional Memorial Hospital.

In Sadanga town, a pickup driven by Charlie Domao-il, 34, fell into a ravine in Sitio Macamcamam­ar, Barangay Poblacion at around 5:40 p.m.

Domao-il was pronounced dead on arrival at the Bontoc General Hospital, where his companion Johnson Faroden died while being treated.

Two other passengers, Faustino Balso and Christina Copas, remain confined in the same hospital.
