FDA recalls anti-rabies vaccine from China

- – Mayen Jaymalin

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has recalled from the market anti-rabies vaccines imported from China.

In an advisory, the FDA said all batches of rabies vaccine (Verocell, Purified) 2.5 IU/0.5 mLlyophilized powder for injection (Rabiesvax-FD) were recalled to protect the public.

According to the FDA, the National Medical Products Administration of China found that its manufacturer, Changchun Changsheng Life Sciences Ltd., violated manufacturing requirements on data integrity.

It ordered hospitals, pharmacies and retailers to stop the distribution, sale and use of these products.
