Villager, student drown

TUGUEGARAO CITY – A 34-year-old man died Saturday after suffering an epileptic seizure and drowned in Pinacanauan River in Barangay Bitabian, San Mariano, Isabela.

Police said Melencio Pagulayan was carrying firewood at around 11 a.m.

Villagers in Barangay Zone 2 retrieved Pagulayan’s corpse that was swept to the side of the river.

On the same day, a 16-year-old student drowned while swimming at 3:30 p.m. in a river at Barangay Pinipin in Sta. Cruz, Ilocos Sur.

Leinard Rabilas was dead when villagers found him. They brought his body to Ilocos Sur District Hospital in Sta. Lucia.
