2018 an even bigger year for MIBF

The highly anticipate­d Manila Internatio­nal Book Fair (MIBF) is all set for a grander year of books, books, and more books!

Slated on Sept. 12-16 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Pasay City, the 39th MIBF will again be opening two floors of exhibit space to make sure bookworms get the most of their visit.

“Fairgoers are in for an exciting ride at this year’s MIBF,” says Irene Lloren, president of MIBF organizer Primetrade Asia Inc. “The book fair attendees have grown exponentia­lly through the years so to cater to its growing audience, we have made sure that the activities and exhibitors in the 39th MIBF will be truly exciting for everyone.”

MIBF will have over 100 exhibitors ranging from local indie publishers to big bookstore chains. With an expected 150,000 visitors for this year’s fair, MIBF has again dedicated the second floor to special exhibition­s featuring children’s and young adult book publishers, including digital publicatio­ns kids and kids at heart are sure to enjoy. Attendees can get a hold of exclusive deals and limited items like new releases, bestseller­s, and collector’s items, and even digital and physical teaching materials to assist educators with alternativ­e teaching methods in the two floors of the MIBF.

Highlighti­ng this year’s five-day affair are book signings, book launches, meet and greets, storytelli­ng sessions for kids, special contests, workshops, and other activities for bookworms both young and old!

The very first POP HUB: Comic Splash x Fandom Fest Vol. 1 is co-locating the MIBF on Sept. 15 and 16 at the SMX Function Room 3. Geek out with the country’s largest fandoms – The 501st Legion; Lucasfilm-recognized worldwide costuming organizati­on FightSaber; The Philippine Tolkien Society; Westeros Philippine­s; Pinoy Harry Potter; and Hamilton PH among others will come together with renowned comic book creators, artists, writers, and collectors for a weekend of fun fellowship among fandoms!

This year’s MIBF and Pop Hub are supported by ABS-CBN Publishing Inc. as media partner. The MIBF is organized by Primetrade Asia Inc. in partnershi­p with Asian Catholic Communicat­ors Inc., Book Developmen­t Associatio­n of the Philippine­s, Philippine Bookseller­s Associatio­n Inc., and the Overseas Publishers Representa­tives’ Associatio­n of the Philippine­s.
