CFA fetes UCPB

The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Society Philippine­s has recognized United Coconut Planters Bank during the search for the 2018 Best Managed Fund of the Year.

UCPB Trust Banking Group’s Peso Bond Fund won the Best Managed Fund Award under the Long-Term Bond Fund using Pure Fair Value thru Profit and Loss Valuation (Peso – FVPL) category from among 82 participat­ing funds from 16 investment houses and trust institutio­ns.

“This recognitio­n is positive proof of the Bank’s prudent fund management expertise despite changing market conditions,” UCPB chief trust officer and trust banking group head Ma. Elena Sarmiento said.

The UCPB Peso Bond Fund is suited for investors who want to maximize the value of their portfolio over a longterm duration of at least five years.

“UCPB offers a wide array of unit investment trust funds for every investment need and client risk profile. We have a total of eight UITFs where clients can open a UITF account for as low as P10,000. Apart from traditiona­l investment products, we also keep our clients up to date on market developmen­ts to help them make informed investment decisions,” she said.

Through the Best Managed Funds of the Year Awards, CFA aims to raise awareness among retail investors by recognizin­g funds that have delivered the highest riskadjust­ed returns consistent­ly over time.
