Cleanfuel roots for JBS Kawasaki-Cleanfuel Motocross Racing
THE COUNTRY is proud to host the second round of the 2018 FIM Asia Supermoto Championship held last Sunday, September 9 at the Quirino Grandstand, Manila. Riders from Asia and Europe participated in the prestigious Supermoto race, which is followed by a growing moto-circuit racing audience.
Morning downpour greeted everyone on race day, forcing teams to scramble and change tires or modify them to adapt to the sudden change in track conditions. But the sun eventually came through, inviting spectators to watch the exciting races closely.
Cleanfuel, the country’s leading provider of Quality Fuel for Less, joined the event to support local Motocross prodigy Kenneth San Andres and the JBS Kawasaki-Cleanfuel Motocross Racing Team spearheaded by the Asian Veteran Champion, Jun San Andres.
The Philippines was well represented by Kenneth San Andres leading our local riders at position 4 and 5 with only UK, Denmark, and Malaysian riders ahead. At the first heat, Kenneth maintained his fifth position.
The second heat was a different story altogether. An unfortunate racing incident caused him to fall at the first corner right after the race start skirmish but Kenneth jostled his way to regain his position. An ill-timed rear tire blow up however, forced him to wait out the race where he finished eighth overall. The race isn’t over. Round 3 is happening on Oct 26-28 in Indonesia, round 4 on November 23-25 in Singapore, and round 5 on November 30 to December 2 in Malaysia. Cleanfuel will continue to support Kenneth San Andres and the JBS Kawasaki Cleanfuel Motocross Racing Team in representing the Philippines.
