A pop-up café for commuters

-

From the pioneering coffeefarming advocacy arm of Henry & Sons comes “The Giving Cart,” a brand-new platform designed to make ordinary trips more meaningful through its premium coffee and quick-serve meals, helping spread its cause among commuters, and expanding its social enterprise’s reach.

A pop-up concept formed under the Foundation for Sustainable Coffee Excellence’s social enterprise TGC, The Giving Cart is set to be the average commuter’s go-to spot for feelgood indulgences prepared for a cause.

The Giving Cart will not only reward people with coffee, it will also support programs that benefit the coffee-farming communities of Benguet.

“We all know how stressful commuting is,” shared Foundation for Sustainable Coffee Excellence (FSCE) director and Henry & Sons CEO Michael Harris Conlin. “We thought of how wonderful an opportunity it would be to welcome all our dedicated road warriors into our cause in the best and most delicious way possible.”

The Giving Cart hopes to make ordinary trips more meaningful and reward people with a chance to indulge in giving, all priced at P80 each.

The Giving Cart is set to feature local selections that capture the flavors of the city’s diverse locale, starting with Taytay’s signature Budbod, a delectable medley of fried rice topped with minced tapa, tomato, spring onions and scrambled eggs. Meanwhile, beverage options offered at The Giving Cart include Espresso, Americano, Latte, Timplado, Coffee Quake, Choco Quake, and Hot Choco.

One of TGC’s three platforms businesses can adopt — the other two being The Giving Café and The Giving Caravan, a roving mobile café — The Giving Cart will direct its proceeds to fund programs by the FSCE as part of its mission to make the lives of Benguet coffee farmers easier.
