Former Is­abela coun­cilor shot dead

SAN­TI­AGO CITY, Is­abela – A former coun­cilor, who was set to file his cer­tifi­cate of can­di­dacy to re­gain his seat, was shot dead in Cor­don town on Fri­day.

Chief In­spec­tor Christo­pher Danao, town po­lice chief, iden­ti­fied the fatality as Jose Bog­bog, a res­i­dent of Barangay Wigan.

Bog­bog was driv­ing his Isuzu Hi­lan­der with three other peo­ple on his way home af­ter at­tend­ing a meet­ing in Barangay Tang­gal when uniden­ti­fied men in a sport util­ity ve­hi­cle opened fire in Barangay Turod Norte at around 4:15 p.m.

Bog­bog was de­clared dead on ar­rival in a hos­pi­tal. His com­pan­ions were un­hurt.
