Taking it easy

Here are three people we want to invite to Karpos Live 3.2.

The last quarter of the year signals the time for slowing down. It’s the final stretch of an exhausting year, and we’re stoked that two of the chillest acts are helping us get through it. Bruno Major and Jess Connelly are playing at Karpos Live 3.2 at Vertis Tent on Oct. 23. Both are known for their smooth vocals and melodies, and we’re sure that hearing them live will be an experience worth sharing.

If you still don’t have company for the show of the season, here are three friends we suggest you take with you to the show. The witchy friend Fact: Jess Connelly’s song On My Way Up is on Spotify’s Haunting Vocals playlist. Your friend who has seen The Craft 10 million times or who always has a tarot card deck in their bag might appreciate the invite. The young crooner

Bruno Major is known for writing many original love songs, but his cover of Frank Sinatra’s Like Someone In Love is on a different level. The way he translated jazz from the original version to his own stripped-down guitar is arrestingly beautiful.

The new love

Imagine swaying to “just because it won’t come easily, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try,” from Bruno Major’s song Easily with your new love. Like, damn. That’ll be one hell of a night. Bonus: The old Bumble match you’ve been meaning to hit up again

Not all Bumble matches end on a good note. Maybe you can try to invite them to this show and try to give dating another go. Or if that’s too weird (okay, it’s kinda weird), just ask if by any chance they’ll be there. Make sure you only show up when Jess Connelly sings Call

Me. That’s power. — Maine Manalansan

Tickets for Karpos Live 3.2 are P2,850. For more information, visit karposlive.com or follow Karpos Live on Instagram at @karposlive.
