PeopleAsia magazine’s 13th “Women of Style this week on and Substance” awards peopleasia at the Grand Hyatt Manila in Taguig City was a stellar BABE night that celebrated women.
ROMUALDEZ In my absence, PeopleAsia acting publisher Pepe
Rodriguez and editor-in-chief Joanne Rae Ramirez welcomed guests to the much-awaited event that saw society’s movers and shakers, members of the diplomatic corps and social circles dressed to the nines, fit for the Crazy Rich Asians-inspired theme of the night.
The hotel’s dazzling Grand Ballroom was designed by Dave Sandoval like an indoor garden bedecked with flowers and greens, which captured opulent scenes from the bestselling novel and box-office hit.
Ramirez, fashionably dressed in a Francis Libiran number, said in her opening remarks, “They say behind every great man is a woman, and behind every great woman is herself. After all, in the word women, we, women, show that we rule — we carry ourselves in the ‘wo’ (pronounced ‘we’) and we carry the other half of the world with the letters ‘men.’ Spell it and say if you agree with me. W-o-m-e-n. Women have it all!”
