Cig­nal out­lasted Gener­ikaAyala in a thrilling five-set en­counter, 26-24, 17-25, 2522, 20-25, 17-15, to se­cure its sec­ond win in four out­ings in the Philip­pine Su­perliga All Filipino Con­fer­ence yes­ter­day at Alonte Sports Cen­ter in Biñan City.

Show­ing steely nerves in a car­diac fin­ish, the HD Spik­ers saved two match points through the ef­forts of skip­per Rachel Anne Daquis then got on the hill on an at­tack er­ror by Gener­ika’s Bang Pineda and didn’t waste the op­por­tu­nity to seal it with a dou­ble block.

My­lene Paat came through with 23 at­tacks and five blocks while Jheck Dionela had 31 ex­cel­lent digs as the HD Spik­ers got back on track af­ter their emo­tional loss to Fo­ton last Wed­nes­day.

The Life Savers slipped to their third con­sec­u­tive set­back.
