8 areas in Pangasinan’s rabies watchlist
LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – Two cities and six towns in Pangasinan have been placed on a watchlist following reports that 11 persons have died of rabies since January.
A report prepared by Rodhalia Binayan, provincial epidemiology surveillance unit nurse coordinator, showed that the deaths were recorded in Dagupan, Urdaneta, Lingayen, Manaoag, Urbiztondo, Malasiqui, Mangaldan and Sta. Maria.
There was a 38 percent increase in rabies cases compared to the same period last year, according to the report.
