AG&P hiring 5K Filipinos for multiple infra projects
Atlantic Gulf & Pacific (AG&P), a global leader in gas logistics and construction services, is hiring 5,000 skilled workers in addition to its over 2,000-strong workforce, to support its strong re-entry into the domestic heavy industry construction market.
The company has been awarded major contracts that will generate an additional 5,000 jobs in the Philippines. With the multiple contracts to be executed over a two-year period, AG&P is recruiting qualified engineers, welders, painters, cutters, fitters, electrical and instrumentation experts among others, to execute a broad range of services including: shop fabrication; general construction works; structural, piping and mechanical erection; and electrical and instrumentation installation works for the local oil and gas, petrochemicals, power infrastructure and power plant projects.
“AG&P expects to play a significant role in the Philippines’ new era of infrastructure and development and is already participating in major projects as a main, general or electro-mechanical contractor. These major awards will create excellent opportunities for local Filipino workers to obtain worldclass skills, professional training and hands-on experience while providing a significant contribution to the Philippine economy,” said Alexander Gamboa, AG&P VP for business development.
“A cross-section of skilled workforce will be employed and trained in-house at AG&P’s dedicated training facilities, ensuring they are fully compliant with AG&P’s rigorous HSEQ standards and procedures. They will be trained to deliver to international standards of quality, with the technical capability to build, erect, install and maintain these complex facilities”, he added.
